Been doing a lot of this and not so much sewing....

My family loves peaches. Last year, I only did one bushel and they gobbled them right up and it was not near enough. This year, being nervous about the whole economy thing, I have been much more diligent about putting away the good stuff... When I get a few minutes, I'd like to make up this Thanksgiving table topper/wall quilt. You know one of our most important holidays gets overlooked between the hype of Halloween and Christmas. It is a shame. Gratitude above anything else is key to a happy life...If you like this pattern, it was designed by a local designer in the SLC area, but you could get the pattern here if you live elsewhere....http://ashbysattic.blogspot.com.

I don't know if you remember me sitting in front of a bowl of peaches for hours because mom told me I had to eat them. I only do them for the kids and Boyd...
My favorite is pears and I am picking some up next week. They are time intensive but worth every minute when you open a bottle.
I also have tons of tomatoes and onions and peppers in my garden and am going to pop those in bottles next. I didn't do beans. I was naughty and went to Smith's and bought some.
Good for you for doing a bit of canning. It's hard work but it sure looks good on the shelves.

Canning is becoming a lost art. Your peaches look beautiful in the bottles. Glad to know there is a kindred spirit who still loves to do things "the old fashioned way". They taste better from a bottle than from a can!!

I think I will have to order the fall table topper patter too. It is so cute.

Baby - could I ever reach in the computer and take some of those peaches! I used to freeze peaches when my sil lived in michigan. When she came down to visit in August we always froze a ton. I miss them - but then I've also gotten lazy!

There is just nothing like those Utah peaches.

Mmmmmm... peaches... I miss peach days! I think I'm just getting a little homesick as of late. I'm sick of studying already and want to prance through the mountains. Think that'll be okay?
