Wanting to make this scrap quilt....The Milky Way...

This quilt is from a Fons and Porter magazine May/June 2012.  I love how easily I can incorporate my scraps and make this really fun quilt.  It is 64 x 80 which is a great twin size...you can always use a twin size, especially with grandkids...
Just love it....by the way, it uses 2 1/2" and 4 1/2" cuts...perfect to use up odds and ends...

I was just thinking about making Milky Way, but will be using Triangles On A Roll for all of the half square triangles. Have you thought about using them? So much easier, and they really help with all of those bias edges. My friend just bought the company, and I can give you a lead to order them if your local quilt shop doesn't have the size you are looking for.

That is a great scrap quilt, Mary.
My grandkids want quilts with princesses or Star Wars characters, or Cat in the Hat. I would love to be able to make something like this for a grandchild! : )

Really like this - I can't wait to see what you do with it. I just picked up a book with scrap patterns in it at Goodwill of all places. I have so many scraps it's crazy.

I don't see this ever happening in my lifetime but I do love the quilt. My goals are super simple like sewing binding on the baby quilt I made for Kalie when it gets back from the quilter.
