Folklore and Quilts...

 The following pictures are all from an exhibit at My Girlfriends Quilt Shoppe addressing the folklore of quilting in Northern Utah.  Great presentation was given with slide show...made for an enjoyable evening...enjoy the photos!!

 Drunkard's Path quilt---made one for my son in same colors a few years ago, however, my blocks were larger...



 Flour Sack...these were bleached in the day and used for quilt backgrounds...
 Woolen quilt pieced and hand quilted (surprisingly enough the maker was a relative to my husband)...

 This quilt was made turn in the late 1800's...
 Family history quilt with pictures from the quiltmaker's family history...
 Miniature art quilt...lovely...
Beautiful hand appliqued and quilted quilt....Hope you enjoyed the pictures...It is good to see a history of quilts and talk about the folklore involved...Make sure you label your quilts and I will try to do a better job of it as well...

All set for borders...Row Along Quilt is sewn together!!!

 Just finished sewing my rows together this morning...
 Finished sewing the tulips last night...
 Makes me want spring in the worst way...
 tulips are the loveliest of spring flowers...
 Sewed my baskets last week...
 they look like they are ready for the Easter parade...
 Got me all excited for the bunny....

 we have been working on this row quilt since last fall...
 Lori Holt, from Bee In My Bonnet designed this fun quilt and posted a row every other week...
On Wednesday, we will start the pieced borders...can hardly wait to finish this and get it quilted...

Happy Birthday Mat...

 When My Girlfriends Quilt Shoppe opened up, they were giving this pattern as a free pattern....
 I've always wanted quilty birthday things to display for that SPECIAL day...
 This little mat is about 24 1/2" square...A very fun little project, which I have seen in multiple fabrics and colorways...they all look great!!!
 Seriously, this makes me excited to celebrate birthdays at my house...
