Winter Wonderland...

I have been embroidering the quilt by Crabapple Hill called Winter Wonderland. Just a darling redwork quilt. Now I'm piecing the border which is comprised of pieced blocks. This block is made 5 times in 3 sizes...What do you think?

It's No Secret...

That I love Nancy Halverson's designs and she has come out with a new book, Count On It. Well--I had to run in and buy it because I will be obsessed over it until I get it, so I got it. Love it. If you like to decorate for holidays, birthdays and such you will love this book. The fonts in the book are terrific as well and you could do many other things with them. You could even make that calendar quilt you've been wanting to do for a long time, and the blocks are already designed for you--imagine that! Enjoy!

MIA

I was asked by the Patchwork Friends Guild President to teach a class in January on French Braid Quilts. I thought I would try a scappy version first and then do a more planned version. If you don't have Bonnie Hunter's Leaders and Enders and you love scrap quilts, you need this book!!

I am cutting up scraps and assembing the braids for this Texas Braid quilt. It is quite addicting and I am chain piecing it as there are a lot of start and stops...

The scrap bin. It takes 2" x 5" pieces of fabric with a 2" square of red solid that ties it together. I'll check back in when I have some progress to show you!!
