What fine respecting witch would not just be all over this job suggestion: "Wicked Witch", call Oz...Now ladies, let's not stampede over to the Toil and Trouble Employment Agency. Take a number--get in line!! I only have 3 more blocks to stitch, then I will begin the assembly of the quilt!! I can hardly wait....

Another UFO Finished!!!
We had our quilt guild quilt show yesterday, which spurred me on to getting this Nancy Halverson Santa tree skirt finished. It is only 3 years in the making. I took a couple of up close detail pictures at the quilt show so you could see the great quilting and the fun details in the tree skirt. It surprised me how much I enjoyed finishing it up!!

What a great holiday---
Today, in Utah, we celebrate the 24th of July. It is the date the pioneers officially entered the Salt Lake Valley. We have parades and celebrations throughout the state. Tomorrow, my hometown where I grew up in Northern Utah is having their celebration. As part of the celebration, our quilt guild is having a quilt show. I will be taking pictures so none of you will feel left out. Because of the holiday, I had the day off work!! Yippeee!!! My dear husband said that he needed to take me to Preston, ID to the new little quilt store, Suppose. I love this little store. We are 1/2 hour away from the Idaho border and it is a beautiful drive up to Preston. I finished buying the fabric today for my Hocuspocusville quilt. I will be doing all solids for this quilt and maybe it will give an Amish feeling--we'll have to see how it turns out. Here are the fabrics that I will be using for the nine-patch, square in a square and borders. I am so excited to finish this little quilt. (the fat quarter that looks blue is actually lavender. Most of the colors are pretty true in the picture, but some are not!!)
This is a picture of the solids wall in the store, Suppose. Man, it is amazing and so fun to put different colors together.
They have a great assortment of books, floss and it fun to just browse.
The front of the store, Suppose. If you get a chance to shop here, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. They carry Heather Bailey, Julie Popa, Anna Maria Horner, Kaffe Fasset. They have a great section of 30's and civil war fabrics and a fun juvenile selection--they have something for everyone!!

New Quilt Project for the store...
The quilt is entitled "Splash" in a book called Flower Festival by Kim Schaefer. She seriously has some really cute flower applique going on in this book and I am making the quilt from fabric from her new line. It is a fun charming quilt and I have 2 daughters who I KNOW will LOVE this quilt. Should be fun....
Block 7 now complete...

And what to my wondering eyes should appear...
It was just like Christmas....I got home from work and to my surprise, the blog give away from Cactus Needle (Nedra) had arrived.
First, was this wonderful cactus pin cushion....
Next...a wonderful selection of hand dyed wools.....
Next, a bag (which is absolutely darling) filled with another piece of wool...
Then...another selection of beautiful hand dyed wools...I feel like I had Christmas day at my house. I love, love, love the wools and the bag and most importantly the pin cushion. Thank you Nedra. This is the first give away I've ever gotten and I feel it is the best one ever!!!
Thanks again!!!
