No Crows--Scarecrow Embroidery

I can't tell you how much fun I had making this embroidered pillow. I embroidered the scarecrow on lunch hours and while I was with Curtis, driving to and fro. I have had the pattern for a couple of years now and I am so excited to get it finished.

I'm currently working on a new feature...

I am working on 2 new projects just for fall...A scarecrow pillow, in which the top is embroidered and I just finished the last stitches on it yesterday, and a wallhanging that says AUTUMN with leaves. Hopefully, I will get them done within the season. Can I just tell you how beautiful the canyon was yesterday when we drove down south. The mountains were ablaze with red, orange, yellow and shades of green. It was quite breathtaking to say the least.

Can YOU believe it, another set of hotpads...

Yet another recyle project to use up scraps of batting and bits of fabric. She is just a little bit SCREAMY SCARY.

This is the last of my Halloween quilts. I get excited each year to put them out.

This is a bed quilt which is called, Happy Hollow. It was delightful to sew and among some of the first quilts that I made.

Everyone should have a quilted Halloween tablecloth don't you think....????

I put a close up of the quilting and a close up of the witches stirring the candy corn. This quilt is appropriately named "Candy Corn Factory." I had Jennifer Pate, my quilter, quilt words in the border and this is what she quilted: Watch carefully these seeds you sow,for that's where the candy corns start to grow. Mix your brew until it smells just right--pour it in the garden on Halloween night. I was impressed with her ingenuity.

For those of you not lucky enough to live by a wonderful quilt shop...

There are sites online where you can buy cute collections. I stay current with what's going on in the material world by quilt magazines and by researching the favorite designers. Fat Quarter Shop offers a wide selection of fabric collections and you can find it at fatquartershop.com. Another website where I have ordered fabrics at is zandsfabrics.com. They have great prices and have been good to work with. I love going to hancocks-paducah.com for another mail order site. They offer an extensive line of fabric as well and they also carry the 108" backing fabric. These are great alternatives when you do not have access to the charming shops out and about. Remember, however, to support your local quilt shops so they can continue to offer great customer service and a more personal touch to your shopping enjoyment.
