I am finally seeing some progress on Lori Holt's Christmas sew along...what a fun sew...

Christmas Hotpads and Little Birdie Stitches

 These are the Christmas hotpads for 2012.  Since Christmas is all about gifts, I thought these would be really fun for the festive season...

November Birdie Stitches block.  Only one more month and I will be sewing my quilt together.  All the other blocks are assembled to make a queen size scrappy quilt...

Run, run as fast as you can...

Should you wish to whip up a couple of these for your holiday giving, it is a simple 9 patch block. Squares are cut at 3". For the arms, I used 1 1/2" squares sewn on the diagonal on the corners, trimmed and flipped like you would do the flying geese. Ric rac was applied before sewing the blocks together. Enjoy!!

Show and Tell...

Don't you just love a pretty flower--at work the other day some Mary Kay representatives were going to businesses giving out roses to women in the workplace...this was mine--love it....

Michelle, a good friend of mine stopped by work and showed me this cutest Halloween quilt that she put together. Michelle is so creative and I loved it. I think my favorite block is the mummy.

This is a cute Christmas quilt she is putting together. Love the letters on it. Gets me all excited for the big day!!

Tidings

The new Nancy Halverson Christmas book is out and I get to make this quilt...Tidings!!

It has 9 blocks and the red letters spell Christmas. I love it, but oh, it is labor intensive. Each block has been really fun to fuse. Here is the Inn block...

Of course, I started with the Star block because it has the least amount of applique....

Once the applique is done, then I get to do the handwork, such as embroidered eyes and details....Wish me luck--I'm loving this quilt!!

Patchwork Friends Christmas Party

This is show and share from our Christmas Party at the quilt guild. this beauty was from a couple of years ago block exchange called Almost Amish. The block background was black and the inside was to be jewel tones. This setting was so stunning that it made me inspired to finish mine own.

This little quilt got started years ago and is now finished for the teenage boy...isn't it funny how our good intentions sit for years...


Another great Turning 20...

This black, white and red all over quilt is adorable. Love the contrast you get from those colors...The party was wonderful and Kari was so gracious to let us have it in her home. The pictures in the background are paintings that her husband, a Western artist has painted. Absolutely beautiful.

Santa Bottle Covers...

Take a sneak peak at these darling Santa bottle covers...would make a fun decoration or be a cute gift for Christmas time. This is another wonderful Nancy Halverson pattern. Fast and fun to sew!!! They hold a 2 liter pop bottle!!!

Christmas Mini Quilt

This sweet little mini quilt measures 6" square. The pattern is by Nancy Halverson in her Christmas book, I Believe. It gives you good practice with applique. On this particular piece, she does not use the blanket stitch for the small mini quilts, but I think it adds a nicer finish so I did it. Nancy Halverson uses a lot of applique in her designs...

Christmas Card Holder and 6" Mini Quilt and Stand...

A Nancy Halverson Christmas card holder. Fun fun project and I totally love her fabric this year. The colors are so yummy!!!

Since I love Halloween, I made this little mini quilt (6 inches). This little frame is so fun and it takes minimal effort to make the mini quilt so I guess I'll have to make different ones for the seasons!!!

Another UFO Finished!!!

We had our quilt guild quilt show yesterday, which spurred me on to getting this Nancy Halverson Santa tree skirt finished. It is only 3 years in the making. I took a couple of up close detail pictures at the quilt show so you could see the great quilting and the fun details in the tree skirt. It surprised me how much I enjoyed finishing it up!!
