Camping and a New Store Quilt...

 On our way home from camping, we passed this billy goat.  There were two wandering in the mountains...

 There were two small salmon in this creek..next week will be the big salmon spawning so we missed it, :(...

Camping weekend and a little embroidery...

I'm just a tad behind in my projects, but I need to do the summer stitchery before fall and winter. These will be made into pillows!! If you keep posted, you'll get to see the embroidered fall and winter in their respective seasons...

There was a 20% chance of rain this weekend for our camping outing and wouldn't you know it, it rained. Luckily, it didn't rain a ton in the evening and held off until we were safe and sound in the tent with a little protection. Just love rainbows--we caught a picture of this one as we were setting up camp...Only one more camping trip and that will be in September.

Family time and short vacations...

This year, we have been taking mini stay-cations to just get away. We have been hooking up with 2 other families and going up to Cinnamon Creek and it has been delightfully fun. This little squirrel kept coming into the camp and didn't seem too bothered by other people present...

Alissa picked up this card game, Squarrels, someone at the store said it was really fun and it seemed to go along with the whole camping theme. It was the hit of the whole camp. The kids once they learned the rules just loved it. Must get this for future campouts (as well as a good air mattress--getting too old for the rocky terrain).

Our friend, Friend (yes, that is his name) built this cool little camp trailer from the base of a trailer. He designed it meticulously over a long period of time. It perfectly fits a kitchen, bed and is wired for radio/sound. Most of the trailer was either given or donated and he put minimal $$ into making it. Quite impressive indeed.

"LOOK UP". Sometimes in life, we need to just look up. Every time I looked up, this is mostly what I saw--beautiful sky through the leaves of the trees. It was a most impressive sight..

I spent a long time looking up. Try it sometime.

Sew Day and Ward Campouts....

Don't you just love this little scrap quilt--my sister, Rose, built this out of her scrap pile. It is a big girl quilt for the big girl bed for my niece for her birthday in September. It just lacks borders and quilting.

Some scenic shots from the ward campout this weekend. We have a church camp near us called Cinnamon Creek and it is really nice. It has bathrooms nearby and a nice covered patio/seating area for a large crowd to have dinner or breakfast. It really was beautiful and very restful...

This is Porcupine Dam/Resevoir on the way to the campout. The water and mountains were just beautiful....

We pulled all of our camping equipment in one of these handcarts. Pretty handy indeed...

Some interesting information about the resevoir I thought you might like...we're going camping again in 2 weeks for 3 days....can't wait!!! Oh the communing with nature!!!
