Eency Weency Spider....

Sometime ago (like 1-2 years ago)...I bought a kit for this spiderweb table topper.  It came with a free pattern and it has been kicking around the sewing area for too long...I got it out, cut my 3" strips and sewed away...Super easy to make...did not take very long...
I found this cute Halloween print (love the Cyclops in it) and it can be reversible.  I loaded the walking foot on my machine and did a stitch in the ditch and then bound it...Fun project!!!

Show and Tell...

Don't you just love a pretty flower--at work the other day some Mary Kay representatives were going to businesses giving out roses to women in the workplace...this was mine--love it....

Michelle, a good friend of mine stopped by work and showed me this cutest Halloween quilt that she put together. Michelle is so creative and I loved it. I think my favorite block is the mummy.

This is a cute Christmas quilt she is putting together. Love the letters on it. Gets me all excited for the big day!!

Excitement...

I have been anxiously
awaiting the arrival of this magazine...Pine Needles, a local shop in the Salt Lake City area is a featured shop and happens to be among my favorite quilt shops.
Sandy, the owner has designed this adorable Halloween quilt using Riley Blake's Halloween line...she even has a touch of embroidery throughout (my kind of quilt)!!

We made a stop at JoAnns to get floss...and I had 8 fat quarters from this line already...One more trip to the quilt store and I'm gonna be working on this!!

Jaybirdquilts Inspiration....

Always just at the crest of summer's ending, I get into the mood for fall--maybe it is because of the heat--or really because it is truly my favorite time of year!! On the blog jaybirdquilts.com, there is a spiderweb hotpad tutorial. Had to make these up to go with the spider dishcloth. First time working with hexagons..I discovered that they are not as intimidating as they look and I really enjoyed this fun easy project!!

Spiders...

When I run across something fun on the internet, sometimes I save it to my documents. Going through them the other day, I found this knitted spider dishcloth pattern. The website I found it on is www.designs-by-emily.com. She has various other dishcloth patterns on the site as well. I thought that I would knit some up for upcoming Halloween to give out as gifts...quick knit and good directions!!

Finished--The new perfect...

Whew---finally finished, bound and almost ready for Halloween. I just need to take the lint roller to it...Don't you love how my quilter, Jennifer, quilted a full moon on this block? It just makes it spooky....

This is where the lint roller comes in....she quilted spiderwebs in all the black areas...

She did this great treatment on the 9 patches--love it...

I just love how quilting adds a 3rd dimension to the quilts...I'm thrilled to have this finished!!!

What do you do on Halloween?

My sister and I planned a Halloween party for the family. We were lucky and had 4 of the siblings there along with husbands, and nieces and children. My brother was in Seattle, my mom not feeling well and my sister had her daughter up from Arizona. My other brother is in St. George. We sure had fun. The requirements for our party: Bring a sp00ky Halloween dish. Don't you love this graveyard chocolate pudding? It was yummy.... Check out these mumified ghosts claiming these delicious cupcakes....Other menu items included Halloween brownies, a fun orange Halloween jello salad, Witches brew, pulled witch pork, broccoli boo salad and spider soup with boney fingers (breadsticks). It was a blast. We played some games and visited...
Our guests of honor--we were lucky to have Snow White visit us along with ....
Spooky the cat, who also joined in the fun...
I made Lucy a tutu--but she kept trying to wiggle out of that one...can't say I blame her... Feel free to share some of your Halloween traditions. I love hearing what others do...Till next year. For now we will put away the goblins...
