Near Finish....

Makes me think of near death...hahaha...sometimes we feel like we are near death when finishing up UFO's, but this UFO was really fun to work on.  About 1 year ago, I had it sewn up, but I needed to add embroidery to the ants, make ruffles for the watermelon and then quilt it...done and done....just need to add binding...
The pattern is by Kimberbell Designs....this is one of her Cuties patterns.  You can find the pattern here:  http://www.kimberbelldesigns.com/online-shop.htm

Lisa's Birthday Party and Store Sample...

This magnificent beauty is embroidered by 3 generations...My friend Lisa and her daughter and Lisa's grandmother all worked really hard on the embroidery.  This is a king size quilt and Lisa figured out the pinwheel setting triangles...AWESOME!!!

Close up of where the corners of the embroidery come together...
Close up of  the center of the block...The quilt is loaded on the machine quilting frames and Lisa is quilting away to get this bad girl done...The pictures do not do justice for this quilt as it is just beautiful!!!
Close up of a little Easter dress for Alissa's grandbaby...
Alissa holding the beautiful Easter dress...she also did one in blue for another sweet grandbaby...
Robot T-shirt in progress for a grandson...Alissa made 2 of these.  They are so adorable!!
These are store samples that I made up.  Truly a fun project.  The large pillow is really big.  If you would like to make some 4th of July or Americana pillows, you can find Kim's pattern here...

I made some Thanksgiving pillows...they were so fun to make and really put me in the mood for this important holiday...often overlooked by Christmas...
Gratitude is of utmost importance...it feeds the soul and gives inner peace when we can be grateful for what we have.  It instills acceptance of our circumstances and opens our minds to new possibilities for improvement.  Happy is the person who has a grateful heart....
I am most grateful for the safe arrival of our newest little grandson.  This is baby Oliver, weighing in at 3 lbs. 13 oz. nine weeks early.  He is just perfect, just needs to grow.  He got his first helicopter ride as he was life lighted to a larger hospital with a great NICU.  He did not require oxygen and at just one week, they took out all the IV's.  He is doing awesome.
