Fifty Nifty United States...

Ever since I have seen a map of the United States on Pinterest http://seekatesew.com/scrap-map-tutorial/, I have wanted to make one.  What a fun way to use scraps and make an interesting wall quilt...
A week ago, I was at My Girlfriend's Quilt Shoppe up in the Attic sewing with friends and I started working on this project...I actually was working on two at the same time as one map was for a friend...
I used the spray starch method from Natalia Bonner's blog, Piece N Quilt to prep my states and then used an Elmer's Glue Stick to hold them in place...
For my template for the states, I simply traced them onto freezer paper and ironed them onto the prepared starched scraps...Great project and now to share at the quilt guild in January because I have been asked to show a Pinterest inspired quilt project...What a fun project!!!

What a great idea, and would especially be perfect for a child's room. My grandson just put a big picture of the states over his bed, and I think one done in fabrics to match his room would be even be better. I'm pinning this idea! Thanks!

How clever, Mary! But does this mean that you are all finished with Christmas projects? If so, I am in awe!! : )
