I am adding these great fabrics to my stash until I can decide what to do with them.

Many thanks to Kim over at bittybitsandpieces.blogspot.com for doing this tutorial on the tissue holders. She showed pumpkin holders and then we were brainstorming at work and came up with the holly leaf for Christmas and a heart for Valentines....etc. They were a blast to make and again thanks, Kim.

The original design is approximately 40 x 60 inches and I am looking to make this a bed size, so I will embroider more flower blocks and do more piecing. This is going to be a work in progress and take me awhile to finish. I'll update you occasionally on it's progress.
For all my bloggity friends, I have been really busy in between laundry, cooking and dishes, I made an additional 16 blocks for my Pathway to Nowhere quilt. I now have 28 blocks. I only need 120. I am suffiencently using up my old Civil War fabrics.

I remember a long time ago when I was having a hard time to find a balance in my life to include time for my creative side. Nancy Zieman, the sewing guru had a book come out entitiled 10,20,30 minutes to sew. She talked about how busy she was as a wife, mother, owner of a business and she said you can accomplish a great deal in just 10-30 minutes a day. I've kind of organized my sewing to fit into that schedule. My days start roughly at 5:00 am to 6:00 am. I try to work in exercise (I'm in that over 45 and need to exercise club). I do this for good health, flexibility and to prevent so many of the problems that come later in life. At my work in a physical therapy office, my boss said if I didn't want to become a patient, I needed to start taking care of myself now by exercising. Water aerobics is my first choice, but I also enjoy Leslie Sansome's walk away the pounds. Between being a mother of 4 children, having a husband who currently suffers from PTSD from his last tour of duty, working full time, I have a lot to do on any given day and I found that the 10,20,30 minutes makes an entire difference. I always try to have a project to take on the go. You never know if you are going to end up waiting at a Dr.'s office or for some other reason. I try to utilize all my time from lunch hours to TV and movie time. I found that the 10,20,30 minutes helps with ongoing chores such as laundry, dishes and cleaning. I try to enjoy the journey so I find a way to make time to sew and quilt. HAPPY SEWING!!!!

This was really fun to assemble, however, I don't know if I will do the big stitch quilting on it or have it professionally quilted or attempt to quilt it by machine. I hope to get it done before the season is over.....
My friend gave me some of this paper piecing paper and I do not know how to use it. I paper piece the way we do here in the US, but it is so different. If anyone could help me figure this out, I would be most grateful.

In April and October every year, we have Conference. Our prophet and the General Authorities give us instruction and teachings. There are 4 sessions, 2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. In between sessions on Saturday, Curtis took me to Sew and Save and picked up some dishtowels. My sister, Carolyn gave me some left over border prints for Halloween for dishtowels. I sewed them up in a jiffy. This makes a fun and fast project. I think they turned out pretty cute.
